Kids Rec: Spaghetti Structure Showdown
Working in teams of three, participants will use only dry spaghetti and marshmallows to design and construct the tallest, most stable freestanding tower possible.
Calling all structural engineers, master builders, and problem-solvers to the Spaghetti Structure Showdown, a high-stakes, fast-paced team engineering event! Working in teams of three, participants will use only dry spaghetti and marshmallows to design and construct the tallest, most stable freestanding tower possible. But building a standard tower won't be enough to win, as this multi-round competition introduces a major, unexpected twist in every round to test your team's adaptability, communication, and structural strategy under pressure. As the clock ticks down, teams must quickly rethink their architectural designs to survive shifting constraints, limited resources, or environmental surprises. This interactive STEM workshop explores core concepts of structural engineering, load distribution, and tension, while pushing teamwork and creative critical thinking to the absolute limit. Bring your ultimate problem-solving skills, collaborate with your crew, and see if your team has what it takes to adapt, build, and conquer the tower!
Important: Kids Rec is limited to 15 participants. Parents must pre-register their children to attend. Spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Call 315-482-7926 or visit the front desk!
