Maintenance/Grounds Worker

Swan Bay Resort & Marina is seeking reliable individuals with the necessary skills to support our Maintenance Team. The ideal candidate for this position would have experience in all types of tasks related to construction & maintenance (ex: painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing).  Additionally, they will be responsible for conducting proper etiquette with both tools and radio communication systems. Safety is of the utmost importance. Therefore, the Maintenance Workers are to perform their duties in a manner that assures safety for themselves, the customer & the property. There is a lot of responsibility with this position as you may often work alone or with little supervision. This position is Seasonal (May-October). Maintenance Worker hours range from 8 am-4:30 pm, 7 days a week, so flexibility in your schedule is a must.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Identifying, locating & operating all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for buildings
  • Performing all surface preparations - painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacements with complete clean up of area when finished
  • Testing, troubleshooting, and performing basic repairs on all types of equipment, such as: plumbing, lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replacing electrical switches and outlets, and other guest room items
  • Programming TVs and performing general maintenance of Rental Units
  • Performing interior and exterior repairs on Rental Units
  • Building, repairing, and moving of furniture
  • Completing electrical repairs and identifying/performing breaker resets
  • Ability to learn HVAC system and adjust temperatures as needed
  • Performing preventative maintenance on tools, kitchen appliances, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication; visually inspecting tools, equipment, and machines
  • Maintaining the maintenance inventory and communicating any parts or supplies needed with management
  • Providing accurate reporting of safety, production, efficiency, quality, and potential problem areas to management
  • Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment and Health and Safety guidelines as required
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and policies
  • Completing any additional tasks asked for by management

  • Sound understanding of handling and using tools and measuring devices
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • At least 1 year of maintenance/carpentry experience is preferred.
  • Intermediate math skills with the ability to divide in all units of measurement, computing rate, ratio & percent is preferred.

  • A drive to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to quickly switch between tasks is required.

Education: High School or equivalent is preferred.
