The connoisseur's season

The season most people miss

is the one worth staying for.

Here's the thing about fall on the St. Lawrence. The crowds thin out. The water goes still. The maples along the shoreline light up, and the whole river feels like it's yours.

Cool, clear mornings. Afternoons still warm enough for the boat. Evenings made for a fire. Most campers pack it in after Labor Day. That's their loss, because the river saves its best for last.

Why Swan Bay

Not a campground near the river. A campground that's on it.

Eighty-seven of our sites sit on or overlooking the St. Lawrence, close enough that the ocean freighters pass by near enough to wave at. You wake up to open water. You fall asleep to it.

This is the Thousand Islands. Fifty-five acres, a full marina, and a stretch of the river that most people only ever see from a tour boat. From your site, it's just the view.

One Offer

Three ways to take it.

Cottages

RV Sites

248 full-hookup sites, oversized pull-thrus for 80-foot rigs, 87 on or overlooking the water.

On the property

You won't need to leave. But the door's wide open.

Fifty-five acres means the good stuff is a short walk, not a drive. Here's what's still humming once the summer rush heads home.

Over the water

Why Knot Tiki Bar

Poolside and over the water, still pouring into the shoulder season. Wine slushies, a short menu, and an upper deck pointed straight down the river.

The Marina

Ninety slips, an attendant, and your own boat ramp. The fall-foliage runs are the best of the year, and the water's finally quiet.

Pontoon & boat rentals

No boat? Rent one at the marina. Pontoons and fishing boats go right off our docks, so the foliage run to Boldt Castle never needs a trailer.

55 acres

Pickleball courts, a dog park, and 55 acres of river frontage to walk. Bring the whole crew, the four-legged ones included.

Upper terrace

The Sunset Lounge

Our new upper terrace on the Waterfront Pavilion, pointed straight at the evening light. Grab a cocktail, kick back, and enjoy.

5 wash bays

The Bird Bath

Our on-site wash: two automatic bays, three self-serve bays, and a dog wash. Roll in dusty from the drive, park clean on the river.

Bath & Laundry House
Perfect 10s

The comfortable part

Bathhouses that helped earn our perfect Good Sam restroom score, laundry, The Rift boutique for the thing you forgot, and free WiFi across the resort.

The last warm evening of the year.

The grill going, the foliage doubled in the water, the Tiki Bar still pouring, and the Sunset Lounge terrace above the marina catching the last of the light.

The neighborhood

Park once. The Thousand Islands does the rest.

Swan Bay sits in the middle of it all. Alexandria Bay five minutes south, Clayton fifteen west, Canada right across the bridge. When you feel like leaving the site, this is the local's short list.

Our Father's Day weekend at Swan Bay was fantastic. The staff was friendly, the park clean, and the location convenient. The live band at the Tiki Bar was a highlight. We'll definitely return!

Our fourth stay at Swan Bay Resort offers a luxury experience close to home. Convenient for shopping and sightseeing in Clayton and Alexandria Bay, it's a great asset to the community. We look forward to more visits with our dog, Bronson.

Waterfront site

Our 2-night stay at Heart cottage was fantastic. The cottage was clean, well-stocked, and near the pools. Excellent customer service and beautiful views. Convenient access to Alexandria Bay and Clayton for shopping and dining. Pools cater to both adults and families. Very dog-friendly.
